SNOW

Finally! The first real (useable) snow. We spent all morning in the park next to our house, building a snow man, a snow whale, a snow carrot, and a snow car. At first, Sofia was a little unsure what think about this cold white stuff, but she ended up having a great time riding in the toboggan. For Samu, of course, this is heaven: Endless building opportunities, a ton of shoveling work to be done, and heavy snowplough trucks passing by constantly.

SYMPHONY

Last week we played hooky from work and went to see and hear a Mozart/Bruckner concert of the Boston Symphonic Orchestra (BSO). They had a morning rehearsal, so we didn't need a babysitter. It was just the perfect interruption of our routine. Thank you, BSO. Thank you, flexible work life!

BEST NEWS OF 2015

We are so excited about our brand-new niece and cousin. Welcome Franziska Leana! We can't wait to meet you. Our warmest congratulations to Laurenz and Irene.

INDOOR PLAYGROUND

One of the perks of living where we do is this indoor playground a few blocks away. Perfect for rainy days.

Samu cleaned the firetruck before riding it.
 And Sofia made a friend.

THANK YOU!

Thank you, dear family and friends, for the all your wonderful and generous Christmas gifts! We love them all and will be very busy enjoying them in the months and years to come.

Books are always a huge hit in our family!

Thanks to Marko, Hanna can now get some exercise even during the cold and wet winter months.

A dress-up box was the right gift for Sofia ;-)
Lovely gifts from Mummi and Ukki.

Thank you also for all the beautiful Christmas cards!

THANK YOU - DANKE - KIITOS!!!

What else is going on?
Sofia's vocabulary (in all languages) is exploding. This has caused some sleepless nights, where she stayed up way past midnight to happily chat with us and try out all her new words. The list below is a week old - we can't really keep track any more.
Believe it or not, our 3-year-old can write!
And he has also portrayed the whole family.

Our December has been very warm.

Sofia is a real clown. She loves to entertain the whole dinner table.
She also wants to do everything herself.
Exactly like Samu, who seems to become more strong-willed and independent by the day.
