TRICK OR TREAT!

Some of those costumes are just really cute, especially on kids ...

HALLOWEEN

We thought about how to give some Americans a really good scare. So what are many of them really afraid of? The health care reform? H1N1? Even better: Communism!! We apologize to our dear American friends for the stereotyping. In our (and their!) defense, the ones we met actually thought it was hilarious. As was the whole GAPSA party night - thanks to a veeeeery cool group of people. THANKS, GUYS!

FALL ... -ING FOR THIS CITY

Chicago unites it all: big-city flair, giant trees in giant parks, the bittersweet longing of big waters, art, great views... Thank you, Chic-town! (What you don't see here but will follow: Nice people we met in Chicago.)

NIGHTTIME IN CHICAGO

... has a lot to offer: views...

and drinks in very nice bars ...

... unless you wear these. Note to self: When in Chicago, dress up! (We actually like that, why didn't we ... nevermind, we had fun. Redhead Piano Bar, we'll see you next time!)

NAVY PIER

Doesn't that make you wanna be a marine?

DON'T COMPLAIN!

We have about 100 pictures like that, we could have uploaded them all!

CITY VIEWS

... are most impressive from Willis (former Sears) Tower, the tallest building of the US, home to 992 toilets and 16100 windows (and how come I remember that??)

How...

ART ART ART

- Chicago is full of it. We especially enjoyed the modern and contemporary type - as you can see.

The reflective bean - very cool, no matter how you look at it

MEGABUS, MEGARAIN, MEGAHAPPY

Comfy seats, great windows, strict discipline among the passengers, but still ... the excitement was too big, we didn't sleep much on our 8 hour ride to Chicago.

The weather in the "windy city" lived up to its name but didn't spoil our mood. What better way to spend a rainy day than at the Art Institut - and what better way to spend it than with Bene, Verena (who will hopefully send us some pictures) and their extended family.
