MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!

I hope you all enjoyed a beautiful holiday with your beloved ones. We had a very nice celebration (modeled after the traditional Ennser-Holy Night), a top-notch Finnish Christmas dinner (modeled after the Kananens' menu) and a beautiful service in St. Mary's Basilica.

WHAT REALLY SPEEDS UP THE HEALING PROCESS

is having friends who take great care of you (those who are and those who are not in the picture):

In fact, you heal so fast that 3 days after the surgery you can already build snow donkeys:

Christmas BREAK - too literally

Saturday night, 6 pm, Hanna has just successfully turned in her final paper of this semester. Time for a party!

50 minutes later, a car crash turns the party into a painful night in hospital.

The ultimate Christmas BREAK: broken radius and ulna.

Thank you so much LeeAnne and Erica for taking such good care of us!

SNOW

... has the wonderful power to turn adults into children ... or angels.

THE MIRACLE OF SNOW

It happened at night ...

when people were comfortable in their beds ...

sister snow came and and turned our place into a winter miracle wonderland ...

WHEN GUYS DO THE SHOPPING...

... in Marko's defense, I have to add that he is actually the healthy-food-freak in the family, who spends hours and hours reading about nutrition, recipes and the like. I just feel like I have to use this rare occasion to make fun of a male cliché. heehee!

THANKFUL for THANKSGIVING

Our very first Thanksgiving. We started the festivities with Macy's parade and 10 pounds of potatoes.

We are all set and good to go (with two types of mashed potatoes)!

Thanksgiving is the time to realize that we have a lot to be grateful for - among others these wonderful people who organized an amazing Eat-Fest with a wonderful, diverse (12 countries!!), happy crowd. Thanks Matthew, Casey and Natalija!
