Hello! We are still loving life in North Karelia.
When the rain just wouldn't stop, we planned some indoor activities like visiting an arts exhibition...
or Lieksa's museum, where we had to explain what soldiers are to Samu. He has been trying to wrap his head around their existence every day every since. Best statement so far: "Mama, tell them they are not allowed to shoot with guns. We only throw balls."
But the summer sun finally came and, as always, transformed this place into a paradise. As always, we can't believe how beautiful it is.
On the first sunny day we found a bouncy castle. Even Sofia loved it!
Then we just spent hours hanging out at various beaches. Favorite activities: mud throwing (Samu), water splashing (Sofia), walking in the water (Marko), and taking pictures (Hanna).
Perfection.
Admiring Mummi's flowers.
Backyard joy.
Pancakes taste even better when made over fire.
Another trip to Joensuu was also part of our sunny days program.
We visited Jenni & family. So excited to see our Goddaughter growing up so well.
And then there was the Lieksa birthday celebration. (Our lucky kids get three parties: One in each country.) Thank you so much for the lovely cake, gifts, and company! Happy birthday to our favorite people in the world!
Birthday trip to our favorite beach.
Again: Thank you for the gifts! :-)
