We are enjoying our slow life in Finland. Even though we manage to fit in some work, and family life keeps us busy around the clock, it's nice to slow down for a little while and do things like these:
Visiting Jussi, Noora, and Kappe in Mikkeli. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend! It means a lot to us that Samu bonded with Kappe and we got to catch up.
On the city train.
After 2 days of playing, the kids fell asleep in the car the second we turned out of our friends' street.
And we drove home through a magical Finnish summer night.
Hello, Joensuu!
Hmmm, Salmiakki ice cream and great architecture.
Back in Lieksa, it keeps raining a lot, but there is always stuff to do.
The local library also works as a playground.
Some bedtime rituals stay the same wherever we go.
Others are new :-)
Visiting the animals at Pikkukilli has become a family favorite.
"He ate it, he ate it!"
A scary moment for Sofia!
A scary moment for the parents: We climbed this tower and loved the view, but we realized that we are not fans of heights.
Time for a break.
Samu grilled his own sausages.
And Sofia discovered her love for grilled meat as well.
Ready for more animals.
Thank you for being one of our favorite places, Pikkukilli! It's great to see happy kids feeding and observing happy animals.
Whenever the rain stops, we explore more of Lieksa, like the harbor.
We have a good life here, but we are also excited about the promise of sunshine and warmth that seem to be around the corner.
