Last weekend, we left our not-quite finished home and a ton of work behind to take a look at the city we have moved to: Boston. We liked what we saw - a lot!
We started out at Boston Common, a big public park, and moved on to the Public Garden.
Samu had been here before. He showed us where he had taken a swan boat ride with his new daycare.
Then he showed us the ducks.
We strolled through the old downtown.
Following parts of the Freedom Trail, which passes by most major sights.
Old City Hall
Cool architecture.
We caught a kids' event at the waterfront park.
And we did some people watching at Quincy Market.
And we finally saw the sea! Hello, Atlantic Ocean!
The best part was this huge wading pool in the middle of Boston downtown. Perfectly refreshing!
The following day, Hanna made something very Austrian for a party at her colleagues' house. This special and rare event needed to be documented:
The work week was intense, but good. That's us, going to school(s) every morning.
Samu did his first homework (!!) with enthusiasm.
Hanna decorated her office.
Sofia learned to spoon-feed herself.
And we waited for the next weekend to come.
When it was finally there, we made plans together and everyone agreed: We want to see the sea again!
Wooow! What a privilege to live so close to all this.
This is Carson Beach.
Back at home, we enjoyed some backyard (fresh)water games.
A very late birthday gift for Samu and Sofia: The sand and water table.
Yay! What a good weekend. We're officially ready for a new week. (At this point, we need to add that Samu has started to love his new daycare, and even Sofia is only mildly protesting at drop-off. Things are looking up indeed!)
