OUR LAST WEEK

This was our last week in Minneapolis. 

We paid a last visit to our favorite beach at Lake Phalen. 

Samu was incredibly excited about the volleyball players and tried to imitate them.

When we sorted out or stuff for the packers, we found a box of old fabrics. Samu loved covering everything and everyone.

And we also liked being covered.

A very sad farewell from Peik Hall after cleaning out our desks. 

Goodbye Dinkytown! We hope you will resist and survive all those terrible "gentrification" plans.

 And then we left the U of M behind.

 Samu painted and framed pictures for his wonderful daycare teachers. We will miss you so much!

 Hanna drew a calendar for Samu, explaining what would happen in the coming days. He took it all in and asked: "Now can you draw a lawn mower?" 

Thank you Matti, Riikka, Elsa and Emil for a lovely evening. It was a real treat to get to know you and see your family grow. We hope (and are pretty sure) we will see you again!

 Then moving day was finally here. Samu showed the packers what to pack.

 And pack they did. Within 5 hours, they had packed up our whole (American) life, ...

emptied our place, ...

and filled this truck.

"Ennser toys". That's what it said on most boxes.

 While they were working hard, we enjoyed a last stroll around our community ...

and brunch at a brand-new neighborhood coffeehouse.

 Farewell Como! We loved living here.

One last get-together with SLC people. Wonderful Jen invited us to her house, cooked for us and made us feel so special and welcome. Thank you, dear, dear friends, especially Jen and her family, Beth and Adam for co-hosting, and Kate and Yi-Ju for coming. As you can see, we had a GREAT time.

And since then we've been in our super fancy downtown hotel.
