Last weekend, as a special pre-holiday treat, we went to the Boston version of Legoland.
We admired giant ...
as well as miniature creations. Look, it's Boston made from Lego bricks!
We built houses and cars and towers.
For Samu and Sofia, the best part was the kids-only climbing structure.
For the parents, the best part was seeing how the kids took care of each other: Sofia encouraged Samu to play even among older kids, and Samu helped his little sister up and down the big steps.
In the evenings, we have enjoyed looking at the Christmas lights in our neighborhood.
Daycare celebrated the holidays by taking all the children and their families to a puppet show. It was great to see Samu so confident among his friends. Sofia was a little scared and preferred to play in the other room.
Samu's lead teachers, Ms Irene, had prepared a lovely gift giving ceremony.
And because the night was such a success, we all ended up celebrating the end of the semester in our favorite pizzeria.
This weekend was very laid back. We are loving the warm and sunny weather!
We did quite a lot of drawing and writing. (Joulukuusi = Christmas tree)
We learned a lot about politics and entertainment when watching the debate of the Democratic candidates with Jason, who was visiting Boston and us.
We went to the park to visit the geese and ducks.
We prepared the dough for and upcoming cookie project.
And, yes, we did, we engaged even the most culturally laden American holiday tradition ;-))
