Lieksa life is treating us well. The kids as well as us parents have enjoyed the peace and quiet, the gorgeous landscapes, and the presence of Mummi and Ukki.
Rock climbing with Ukki.
Walking to the playground
Marko has taken up planking.
And in general, everyday life and things have been pleasant and worry-free.
We have only had a few sunny and warm days so far, but we have thoroughly enjoyed them at the beaches of Lieksa.
Satama/Harbor
Löpö - our favorite
Marko and Hanna have been night running every day and sometimes even included a short swim in the ice cold water. Finnish summer nights make us feel like the day never ends and there is endless amount of time to do things - a very calming feeling!
This year, our kids are (almost) big enough for the traffic park in Lieksa. They loved it!
Another day, another beach: Timitra
Backyard games
Another trip to Satama/Harbor
The biggest accomplishment of the summer so far: Samu has learned to ride a bike (with training wheels). This is huge and we are so proud! A big thank you to Ukki for all the practice time.
The past few days we have spent in Mikkeli, home of the university where Marko is employed (MAMK) and home of our dear friends Juusi, Noora, and Kasperi.
They have an awesome tub!
And a trampoline! Thank you to sweet Kasperi for sharing it. And thank you for a warm welcome, Jussi and Noora!
MAMK explorers: Kasperi and Samu
Mikkeli seems like a very nice place. Great lakes, great playgrounds, great views.
What if ...?
(to be continued)
