This week, Marko spent 4 days in Minneapolis at a conference he co-planned. We are very proud of him for presenting his important research! He came home happy and inspired. But we also missed him a lot. When Marko is gone, everything is just a little out of whack.
Some moments were tricky, like these ones:
Samu declared the staircase a train, carried all his books and toys onboard, and was not ready to go to daycare by any other means of transportation than his staircase train. It took a lot of convincing to get him in the car that morning.
Sofia was not excited about wearing anything but her pyjamas and her fox hat. She ended up being a fox for Halloween. Problem solved!
There were also quite a few good moments:
Sofia said "owl"! And here is why:
In order to decompress, Hanna took longer lunch breaks and little walks through Boston downtown. Good moments!
Samu loved his new PJs.
On the last day, everybody got ready for a welcome-back-party for Marko. Samu wrote "Papa"! We are so proud!
He also drew a picture of Isi.
And finally, we were reunited!
Apart from Marko's return, the best part of the weekend was finding another family we like a lot: Hanna's colleague Kate and her husband Matt invited us for breakfast. Abraham (Abe) and Samu are about the same age, and the two baby girls Charlotte and Sofia were pretty excited about each other too. Oh, and all 4 parents seemed to like each other too ;-)
