ELECTIONS (by Marko)

Last Tuesday was Election Day. In these midterm elections Americans voted for their representatives in the Congress, i.e. the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Minnesotans also voted for a new governor. The race between Democratic Mark Dayton and Republican Tom Emmer was so tight, that we are facing a recount.

Our friend Barack traveled around the country and did everything he could to motivate the supporters of the Democratic Party. But the results were disappointing. Democrats lost their majority in the House.

The ultra-conservative Tea Party movement celebrated around the country. In Minnesota, Sarah Palin’s sidekick Michelle Bachmann was elected to the Congress.

In case you haven’t heard of Bachmann yet, here are some highlights from her political agenda:
"Carbon dioxide is natural, it is not harmful, it is a part of Earth's lifecycle."

“The big thing we are working on now is the global warming hoax. It’s all voodoo, nonsense, hokum, a hoax”

“And what a bizarre time we’re in when a judge will say to little children that you can’t say the pledge of allegiance, but you must learn that homosexuality is normal and you should try it."

“I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under Democrat President Jimmy Carter. And I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it is an interesting coincidence.”

Sometimes there are no words....
