SURPRISES

We thought it would be just a normal weekend, with lots of time to rest, watch some movies, work, go for a walk by the lake (this time Calhoun), and otherwise do nothing special.

But then, surprise number one, the small one, made us change some cooking plans: Our abandoned garden patch produced a whole load of green peppers. Letscho-time!!

Well, but here comes the big one: Wedding plans were made!! Wohooo! Congratulations, bro and siz! We are so happy for you! (You'll probably have to make your own baby though.)

NEW MEDIA COMPETENCE

is key in today's world. Some start early ;-) Thanks for skyping, Elias ... and parents!

P.S.: We also enjoyed talking to Lau + Irene last weekend, but forgot to take pictures. Sorry.

ZOMBIES

want brains! They also want to pubcrawl through Minneapolis with 9000 other zombies. They want to dance and drink beer and watch drag shows. Horror can be so much fun!

The first costume (I-blowdried-my-hair-in-the-bathtub-zombie) was just too hot ...

... so we went for a makeover to Ben and Ingrid's art studio.

All made up, fed, and tipsy - ready to go!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CSCC!

this year's fall celebration of our co-op was also its 35th anniversary. Happy birthday, dear coop! We truly love it here. And we had a great time are your Diwali-style birthday party - Indian parties rock!

Diwali is the festival of lights, one of them being fire. Voilà, the fire show.

Mhmm.

The party crowd, here still peaceful, soon wild on the dancefloor.

No Indian festival without henna tattoos. And of course the yummy food (which was eaten, not photographed).

AS LONG AS

we are spoilt by the gorgeous fall (almost 30°C and golden sunshine every day of the last week!) we use the occasion for more pictures of the beautiful campus and Como area where we live and work.

Around Hanna's department building - our favorite area on campus

Many thoughts have been thought, books have been read, and chai lattes have been consumed under these trees - many of them by Hanna.

The reading continues at home in our front yard. What a life! (And what a book - really!)

BREAKING NEWS

is something we can't provide, sorry. Our daily routine currently consists of reading, working, sleeping, and eating. This might not sound exciting, but don't be mistaken: The wonderful weather we have recently had (after a week of rain) does excite us quite a bit. Everytime we step (or look) outside, there it is: Beauti-fall!

Could this be the most beautiful campus in the world?

Fall's favorite color: "natural" red!

Hanna is endlessly fascinated with these trees.

Seasons may change, habits don't: The weekend run around Lake Phalen is always a highlight.

IN LOVE WITH HARRIET

- Lake Harriet, that is. And who wouldn't be, especially on a glorious fall day like today? "Balsam auf der Seele" (balm on the soul), as we say in Austria.
