Equipped with Papa Ennser's Langenlois guide book, we set out to explore some tourist routes of Hanna's hometown. A new perspective on a familiar environment.
Elisabeth chapel and Sgraffito House - documenting the ancient history of powerful women.
Kornplatz - the city center
All roads lead to a Heurigen.
St. Laurentius Church
The May pole of Langenlois
What are you gonna bring us, storch?
In front of Hanna's elementary school building: Hanna painted this boy falling from his sled in 1987. He's been lying there ever since.

OH, VIENNA
FROM RURAL TO URBAN
After a relaxing and athletic weekend in Langenlois ...
we took the train (after train-abstinence of a year!) and hit the big city ...
to see our friends.
After friendly words and warm welcomes were exchanged, it got serious: kubb, the game of the day, was on. Boys against girls. Well, what can we say. It's not that they didn't try, but the boys' efforts were in vain. The girls ruled the game.

FROM SPRING TO SUMMER
Just when spring was about to reach its peak, we left to another season and world: Austrian summer. And we arrived right in the middle of traditional, rural Austrian folklore: Feuerwehrfest Reith. A village of 250 people, celebrating with beer, brass band and bratwurst - and, yes, Lederhosen. Jucheißa!
Beautiful CSCC and our backyard
The smallest beer they had - cheers!
(No worries, it was non-alcoholic.)

HAPPY TIMES 2
When you're so far away from home, you take every chance you get to celebrate your home country. And Finland's victory in the icehockey world championship was a good reason. Even though the Finnish Bistro didn't care. ("Sorry, we're closed.") Other reasons for happy times: spring is finally here and the academic year is done. Hurray!
Su-o-mi!
Ahh, spring has finally sprung!
St. Paul campus, bulls and a belly: All pretty!

HAPPY TIMES
Happy birthday, Marko! We celebrated the birthday boy reaching his "Jesus year" with a fancy lunch at our new favorite place (Loring's not-only-pasta-bar) and, most importantly, with our wonderful neighbors, rare veggies and a huuuge, manly sausage.
At Loring's - great discovery not far from us.
Oh boy, many inappropriate jokes were made about this sausage. Yummy!

HANNA'S FIRST MOTHER'S DAY
started with a post-midnight barbecue session hosted by Marko. It was delicious. Aw, that asparagus in ginger-lemon-sauce - hmmm! Thanks, Marko!
To ensure the produce supply for future barbecuing sessions like this, we finally opened our garden the next day and planted a huge amount of seeds and seedlings. Grow well, you guys!
