ICECREAM RULES!! (2 MEANINGS)

1. Icecream is just really really great - especially the first one eaten outside, especially when eaten by a lake in a really sweet café. 2. Icecream rule number one seems to be that you have to look a little stupid when you eat it ;-)





On the way home we noticed we were not the only ones enjoying the spring air:

AUSTRIA SAYS HI

... in a very nice way: Stiegl, Gösser, Bründlmayer, Hirsch, Steiniger, Schloss Gobelsburg, Alzinger - they were all there! We just could not walk out empty-handed!

CITY AND NATURE

... is all we wanted from this weekend. And it's exactly what we got. After a short trip through downtown to the main library we set out to discover yet another wonderful lake - Lake Vadnais - and ran around it. Nice!!

ÉIREANN GO BRACH!

Besides (and most importantly) being our goddaughter's nameday, today is also St. Patrick's Day - and some people here take this very seriously. Thankfully, we still had some food coloring from Austria (!) and leftover vodka in the fridge. Go Ireland!

WE ARE BEING COUNTED

Almost new in the country, but we get to take part in the 2010 census - how exciting! Less exciting: It's just a very basic form you fill in. Still: We're being counted. Yay!

WAY TO START SPRINGBREAK!

Spring came right on time - on the first weekend of springbreak. With a record of 64 F (about 18 Celsius) there was only way to spend the day: outside!! After a beautiful walk by Lake Johanna (!), Nelson and Erica came to play. What a great day!

BIRTHDAY CHATS

Congratulations even came from across the Atlantic! Thank you, my dear family and friends, for being so close (even though so far). It made the distance much more bearable.

SURPRISE!!!

While Hanna spent a fun afternoon at Erica's, some people gathered secretly at the Kitty Cat Klub to surprise her. And it worked like a charm! Hanna is still surprised (and proud) how many wonderful people she may call her friends. Thank you, guys!! I'm SO touched. You're the best! (Sorry to the people who didn't end up in a picture - I am a bad photographer when I'm under shock ;-))
